WOAH: Aquatic Code Standards for Comment

The Aquatic Animals Commission helps ensure the Aquatic Animal Health Code (Aquatic Code) and Manual of Diagnostic Tests for Aquatic Animals (Aquatic Manual) reflect current scientific information. The Aquatic Code and Aquatic Manual contain international standards for trade, disease prevention, and disease control for aquatic animals.
APHIS provides the draft standards ("Part A" standards, "Part B" standards, and "Part C" standards) below and invites stakeholders to comment.
- "Part A" standards are proposed for adoption in May.
- "Part B" standards will go through additional rounds of comments before being proposed for adoption.
- "Part C" standards are presented for information only.
To provide comments:
- Download the files by clicking the links below that correspond to the standards you wish to review.
- Edit the specific text you are commenting on by proposing text changes (that is, edit the text the way you believe it should read) using “Track Changes” in Microsoft Word.
- Add a “comment” with the supporting scientific or other rationale for each of your proposed text changes using “Track Changes” in Microsoft Word.
- Submit your proposed changes to usa.oie.iahs@usda.gov no later than the due dates below.
- Deadline for comments on Part A chapters: Monday, April 15, 2024
- Deadline for comments on Part B chapters: Friday, May 10, 2024
