APHIS works with Native American Tribes to protect agriculture and natural resources. We also provide agricultural assistance to Tribes. We aim to strengthen agricultural networks while building a future where history is acknowledged and sovereignty, ancestral heritage, and cultural values are respected.

Each Tribe has the opportunity for government-to-government consultation with APHIS in developing policies that may have Tribal implications as described by Executive Order 13175: Consultation and Coordination With Indian Tribal Governments.

We work alongside Native American Tribes to safeguard their livestock, crops, and natural resources.

We offer paid internships, summer programs, and other career opportunities for students and recent graduates of all educational backgrounds.

We cooperate with Native American organizations to host training workshops that help prepare Tribes for animal health and plant health emergencies.
