The APHIS Civil Rights Program—overseen by the Office of Civil Rights, Diversity, and Inclusion (OCRDI)—advances fair and equitable treatment in the workplace.

OCRDI provides leadership, conducts outreach to minority organizations and institutions, evaluates progress, manages formal and informal complaints, implements diversity and inclusion efforts, and provides national policy and leadership on affirmative employment. We foster a respectful, inclusive workplace in accordance with Equal Employment Opportunity and Civil Rights Laws and Authorities and the Notification and Federal Employee Antidiscrimination and Retaliation Act (No FEAR Act).

APHIS' Office of Civil Rights, Diversity, and Inclusion is composed of several groups that address the various civil rights programs and initiatives at our agency.

AgDiscovery is a free summer outreach program to help teenagers explore careers in agricultural sciences.

Whether you're a high school student or have just finished graduate school, APHIS offers a variety of opportunities–including paid internships, summer programs, and more.

The purpose of special emphasis programs (SEP) is to provide guidance and direction on the establishment and administration of SEPs throughout USDA.
