Emily Ruell works in the Registration Unit at the National Wildlife Research Center (NWRC). The unit ensures the regulatory compliance of APHIS’ current registered products and research on new products for the management of invasive vertebrate species or other problem wildlife, or zoonotic diseases in wildlife. 

The Registration Unit works with APHIS Wildlife Services Operations, APHIS Environmental and Risk Analysis Services, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and APHIS Center for Veterinary Biologics. Prior to working at NWRC, Emily conducted research in conservation genetics and evolutionary biology at Colorado State University and environmental policy for the U.S. Geological Survey.

Program

The APHIS Wildlife Services (WS) NWRC Registration Unit is responsible for providing data and information to support regulatory approval of new or existing products needed by WS Operations.
