Animal Health Status of Regions
Find information about APHIS-recognized animal health statuses of foreign regions for specific animal diseases, pests, or acceptable commodities below.
APHIS restricts the importation of some animals and animal products due to the animal health status of the exporting or transit region. A region can be any of the following:
- a national entity (country)
- part of a national entity (such as a county, Province, or State)
- parts of several national entities combined into an area
- a group of national entities (countries) combined into a single area
In general, we issue or lift import restrictions through the regulatory process. We then update our lists of APHIS-recognized animal health statuses to reflect changes in those statuses.
