Dr. Jeffrey Root is the Project Leader for NWRC's Wildlife Disease Project and a Research Wildlife Biologist at the National Wildlife Research Center. Dr. Root's research focuses on a variety of wildlife-associated pathogens at the local, national, and international levels.

Research Project

The Wildlife Disease Research Project conducts research to support National Wildlife Disease Program surveillance activities, identify and characterize wildlife pathogens at the wildlife-agricultural interface, and develop tools to identify and mitigate disease risks to agricultural, public, and wildlife health.
