Tip 1
When you get a new pig, keep it separated from animals already on the farm for at least 30 days and watch for signs of disease. If you are caring for other pigs, tend to the pig in isolation after taking care of your other animals. Change your boots and clothing, and wash your hands before and after you work with pigs in isolation.

Tip 2
Clean, disinfect, and dry your equipment and trailers to lower the chances of spreading ASF.

Tip 3
Keep the area around your barn free of weeds, debris, and feed to keep out unwanted pests and wildlife. Use fencing, nets, or other materials to keep them out of the barn.
