Notice of Availability: Pre-decisional Environmental Assessment- Beaver damage and conflict management in Wisconsin

Notice of Availability – Wisconsin: Wildlife Services, a program within the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS-WS), has prepared a Pre-decisional Environmental Assessment (EA) entitled “Beaver Damage and Conflict Management in Wisconsin”.  The EA analyzes the potential environmental impacts of alternatives for APHIS-WS involvement in beaver damage management in Wisconsin.  The EA is available for public review and comment prior to issuing a decision.  The proposed action is to implement an adaptive integrated approach using a variety of methods to reduce beaver damage to human health and safety, property, agricultural and natural resourcesAPHIS-WS is requesting that the public review and provide their comments on the EA by February 23, 2026.

All comments received, including the names and addresses of those who comment, will be part of the public record and will be released for public review as required and allowed by law.  Comments, information, and analyses provided should be as specific as possible and an explanation of why the information is important to the analysis should be included.
