Notice of Availability: Final Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for Cattle Fever Tick Eradication Program Use of Arkion Fly and Tick Spray

APHIS is making available to the public a final environmental assessment (EA) and finding of no significant impact (FONSI) for the Cattle Fever Tick Eradication Program's proposed use of Arkion Fly and Tick Spray (AFTS). The EA evaluated the use of AFTS to prevent or limit the spread of cattle fever ticks (CFTs) that can transmit the disease bovine babesiosis or cattle fever to U.S. livestock. APHIS proposes to treat wildlife (including white-tailed deer and nilgai), cattle, horses, and livestock areas where CFTs can be found with AFTS, an all-natural soap-based insecticide composed of plant oils.

Interested parties may view the final EA and FONSI at www.aphis.usda.gov/livestock-poultry-disease/cattle/ticks/cattle-fever (see "Reports and Assessments") or by requesting the document “Cattle Fever Tick Eradication Program Use of Arkion Fly and Tick Spray” from:
