Note: Jamaica has banned the importation of live birds and hatching eggs originating from counties where detections of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) have been confirmed in commercial poultry. Please check with your Veterinary Export Trade Services (VETS) Endorsement Office to confirm the HPAI status of the state from which the commodities originate in order to determine eligibility for export.
Exporters interested in sending live poultry to Jamaica should request an import permit from the Ministry of Industry Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, Veterinary Services Division and follow the instructions provided.
If your species is not listed, the requirements for that species are not known. Exporters who want to ship livestock or germplasm whose requirements are not listed above should have the importer or buyer in the destination country apply for an import permit at the appropriate ministry. This import permit will most likely outline the specific requirements.
