The U.S. SHIP sampling and testing requirements provide additional assurances about the health status of participating sites and support rapid disease detection.
They help producers, facility owners, and first responders:
- Quickly detect a disease incursion, such as African swine fever or classical swine fever
- Create a well-defined, effective system of testing that can be easily scaled-up in the event of an outbreak
The U.S. SHIP sampling and testing working group researches and explores potential advancements in sampling and testing requirements, such as sampling scheme.
