PCN Regulated Field Description November 16, 2023

Last Modified: April 24, 2024

Since the last update to the PCN area on January 11, 2023, APHIS released approximately 36 acres of PCN-associated fields from regulation. APHIS deregulated the fields after completing a release protocol comprised of a sequence of surveys with negative laboratory results for PCN, and in accordance with 7 CFR §301.86, subpart 3(d)(2) Removal of fields from quarantine – Associated fields. The locations of the fields are as follows: Bingham County, Idaho – T02S, R36E, section 9.

APHIS also deregulated approximately four acres of PCN-infested fields because the landowner converted the acreage to on-agricultural use. This deregulation is in accordance with 7 CFR §301.86, subpart 3(d)(4) Protocol for removal of fields from quarantine. The locations of the fields are as follows: Bingham County, Idaho – T01N, R37E, section 26.

With this change, the current regulated area is 6,495 acres, of which 3,538 acres are infested fields and 2,957 acres are associated fields.
