To take a pet bird to Jamaica, a permit is required and may be obtained by writing to:
Director of Veterinary Services
Ministry of Agriculture and Lands
Kingston 6
Jamaica
The permit will outline the health requirements that must be met for entry. Jamaican regulations require that all animals enter only through the port of Kingston or through the Palisadoes Airport.
The port of entry must be specified in the application permit. If circumstances are warranted, the
Director of the Veterinary Services of Jamaica has the authority to allow the animal to enter through another port. All animals will be inspected upon arrival.
For pet travel requirements not listed, APHIS has not been officially informed by the foreign country about the requirements for your pet’s travel. We recommend that you contact a government official of the country you are traveling to for more information.
