Export Live Animals to Gambia
Summary of Requirements
Import permits issued by the Department of Livestock Services (Veterinary Services and Competent Authority of the Gambia) are required.
Note: Health certificates for live animals (does not include frozen germplasm) are required to be issued by a USDA Accredited Veterinarian and endorsed by APHIS within 72 hours of departure.

The Gambia Veterinary Services Department of Livestock Services has confirmed that the VS Form 17-6, Certificate for Poultry or Hatching Eggs for Export, may be used for the export of U.S. poultry, day-old chicks and hatching eggs to the Gambia, with no additional certification statements in Item 13. "Remarks or Additional Information" of the certificate.

If your species is not listed, the requirements for that species are not known. Exporters who want to ship livestock or germplasm whose requirements are not listed above should have the importer or buyer in the destination country apply for an import permit at the appropriate ministry. This import permit will most likely outline the specific requirements.
