APHIS-Veterinary Services is not the competent authority to endorse the “MODEL CERTIFICATE FOR IMPORTS OF HIGHLY REFINED CHONDROITIN SULFATE, HYALURONIC ACID, OTHER HYDROLYSED CARTILAGE PRODUCTS, CHITOSAN, GLUCOSAMINE, RENNET, ISINGLASS AND AMINO ACIDS INTENDED FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION” required by the European Union (EU) for the import of the named commodities. 

Exporters of these commodities (for export to the EU for human consumption) should contact FSIS, FDA, NOAA, or AMS (whichever USG entity regulates the pertinent production facility) for information on the availability of the certificate.
