APHIS Clarifies Recent Changes to Its Quarantine Areas for Asian Citrus Psyllid in California

In response to stakeholder questions that we have received, USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is clarifying our recent changes to the Federal Asian citrus psyllid (ACP) quarantine areas in California. APHIS took this action to ensure our published Federal ACP quarantine areas parallel the existing State-level quarantine expansions that the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) has established over several years. Although this quarantine update expanded the Federal quarantine areas, it did not affect the State-level quarantine areas or the regulatory requirements for any stakeholders in California. CDFA’s and APHIS’ ACP quarantine areas are now parallel.

Industry stakeholders with questions may email them to APHIS’ Acting Advisor for State and Stakeholder Relations Byron L. Williams at Byron.Williams@usda.gov. Members of the media may direct their inquiries to APHISPress@USDA.gov.
