  • The certificate should be used only for the export of insect meal for pet and ornamental fish food or for livestock feed.
  • Insect meal for inclusion in livestock feeds must be derived from Black Soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens), and may only be incorporated into feeds for poultry or salmonid fish. The product must be registered with the Animals Feed Division of the CFIA prior to entering Canada.
  • The product may not contain any ingredients of animal origin, may not be cross contaminated with any other ingredients and must be manufactured in the U.S.
