European Union - Egg Products for Livestock Consumption

Last Modified: April 04, 2024

The European Union requires the Regulation (EU) 142/2011 Chapter 15 Health Certificate for the certification of egg products intended for livestock consumption.

This certificate contains residue-related language that is under FDA authority. Therefore, endorsement of the certificate is not available from APHIS at this time.

Some European border inspection posts (BIPs) may be willing to allow egg products imported with the FSIS mark of inspection and certification for human consumption to be used for livestock feed purposes. If an exporter is interested in exporting product bearing the FSIS mark of inspection to the EU for livestock consumption and if their importer verifies the pertinent BIP would allow that import, the exporter should contact FSIS for more information on exporting egg products to the EU for human consumption
