The HACU National Internship Program was developed under Executive Order 13171 "Employment of Hispanics with the Federal Government" which request that federal agencies increase their outreach to the Hispanic community, as well as support programs that help address under-representation of Hispanics in the federal workforce ranks.
This program provides college students from institutions with significant enrollment of Hispanic students the opportunity to explore a potential Federal Service career.
The program provides students with quality educational and professional work experience that will enable them to make more educated career choices.
The program pays $11,700 per student. This fee covers the cost of roundtrip airfare, housing arrangements and salary for each student. For additional information please contact:
HACU Eligibility Requirements
Completed their freshman year of college before the internship begins
Have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
Be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate or associates's degree program. Seniors graduating in May of 2006 are eligible to participate only in the 2006 summer program

HACU staff matches academic backgrounds to internship description provided by host organization.
Representatives from HACU and host organizations work to ensure that students' skills and goals are considered in placement.
