Notification is an administratively-streamlined alternative to the permit. The genetically engineered (GE) plant must meet specified eligibility criteria, and the introduction must meet certain pre-defined performance standards.

Submit a Notification via ePermits
ePermits is a web-based system that allows users to submit import /interstate movement/transit/release permit applications, track applications, apply for renewals and amendments, and receive copies of their permits.  APHIS now accepts notification applications online through ePermits. Applicants are encouraged to use the ePermits system.  Learn more about ePermits.

APHIS BRS recently revised the BRS User's Guide: Notifications. The updated guide (3/29/2011) clarifies the submission process and covers reporting requirements, location and termination information.
