WASHINGTON, May 6, 2011--The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) will hold a total of four public meetings in May and June 2011 to discuss the regulatory framework developed by the Veterinary Services (VS) bovine tuberculosis and brucellosis regulatory working group.
VS is proposing to make a number of important changes to its bovine tuberculosis and bovine brucellosis programs with the help of a working group, which includes federal, state and tribal subject matter experts. Working group members have already engaged their local stakeholders throughout this process. VS is now broadening its public outreach regarding these regulatory changes by holding public meetings to advise interested individuals of the regulatory framework and to seek their input.

The meetings will be open to the public from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (local time) each day. Registration for each meeting will begin at 7:30 a.m. Due to time constraints, public participation in the discussions will be limited.
