The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is proposing to allow, under certain conditions, the importation of commercial shipments of peppers from Panama into the United States without treatment. These conditions, which include trapping, pre-harvest inspection and shipping procedures, are designed to prevent the introduction of quarantine pests into the United States. This action would allow for the importation of peppers from Panama into the United States, while providing for protection against the introduction of quarantine pests.
This action was published in the June 1 Federal Register.
