National Animal Disease Preparedness and Response Program Tribal Funding Opportunity Fiscal Year 2025

Last Modified: October 23, 2024

The National Animal Disease Preparedness and Response Program (NADPRP) helps our country prepare for the most critical animal health threats facing U.S. livestock industries today. Through NADPRP, APHIS partners with States, Tribes, producer organizations, universities and others to carry out projects that enhance local, regional, and national capabilities to prevent, prepare for, and respond to animal disease outbreaks.

In fiscal year (FY) 2025, APHIS is making up to $500,000 available to Tribes and Tribal organizations to support projects in the following priority areas:

  • Develop, enhance and exercise Tribal animal disease outbreak emergency response plans
  • Support livestock and poultry biosecurity measures and programs
  • Enhance the capability and capacity for depopulation, carcass disposal, and decontamination in a disease outbreak
  • Support animal movement decisions in a disease outbreak
  • Enhance animal disease traceability during a disease outbreak
  • Develop and deliver training and exercises to improve animal disease outbreak response capabilities
  • Support outreach and education on animal disease prevention, preparedness, and response
  • Enhance aquatic animal disease preparedness and response
  • Enhance equine disease outbreak prevention and response
