The records management council has been chartered by the IT Leadership Action Committee. Several programs have appointed their members to the council. The first meeting should be held in April 2006.
The administrative schedules are being updated to incorporate the General Records Schedules (GRS) which are issued by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). The GRS contains mandatory dispositions for most administrative records.
Program offices are urged to work with their member of the records management council to review and update their records schedules. The schedules were previously reviewed several years and many are outdated.
