Current Research Interests

Laboratory Management, laboratory diagnostics for wildlife, avian influenza laboratory technique testing and development for wildlife.

Education

  • Education: M.S., Colorado State University, Environmental Health, “West Nile Virus sero-surveillance by means of the Nobuto whole blood filter strip in Red-winged blackbirds in North Dakota (2003-2004)”.
  • B.S., Colorado State University, Wildlife Biology

International Experience:

  • Provided field practice and procedures training to Forestry Administrators in Cambodia in the event of a large wild bird die off due to highly pathogenic avian influenza (2007).
  • Provided assistance establishing infrastructure and training to laboratory personnel in Kenya to provide high-throughput rRT-PCR testing of wild bird field samples for avian influenza (2009).
