Live traps are important in the management and removal of Gambian giant pouched rats Executive Order 13112 (1999) directs Federal agencies to provide leadership in controlling invasive species and preventing their introduction and spread. WS has been leading an eradication effort of the Gambian giant pouched rats on Grassy Key, Florida, in collaboration with its partners. Methods employed on Grassy Key include live trapping and removal.

Motion sensitive cameras detect Gambian giant pouched rats at nightWS also uses motion sensitive remote cameras to identify locations of these nocturnal animals so that trapping can then be implemented.
