The WS program in Montana focuses most of its efforts on managing the interface between livestock and wildlife. The recovery of the gray wolf, a predator of livestock, adds a significant measure of complexity to WS' job. WS cooperates with the Montana Department of Livestock, the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife, and Parks, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) when dealing with conflicts between humans and wolves. At the same time, WS cooperates with FWS and Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks in aiding the recovery of several T&E species. |
