These modules are designed to inform you of Federal policies, processes, and procedures. The Pest Permits learning module provides general information. Topic specific learning modules are designed to increase your knowledge and understanding of permit policies pertaining to each topic.

Learning Modules

Pest Permits – This module will inform you of the permitting policies, processes and procedures including the application timeline related to plant pest permitting, and about safeguards and containment facilities, labeling and hand-carry authorizations.

Arthropod Permitting – This module provides information on permitting of arthropods for importation or interstate movement.

Pathogen Permitting – This module provides information about permits that are required for interstate movement, importation, continued curation, and release (removal from containment) of plant pathogenic microbes such as bacteria, viruses, viroids, fungi and nematodes.

Biological Control Permitting - This module provides information about the permitting policies, processes and procedures related to the importation of organisms used to control invertebrate plant pests, plant pathogens and noxious weeds.

Miscellaneous Permitting Module: Pet Food, Mollusks, and Noxious Weeds – This module provides information about the permitting policies, processes and procedures related to miscellaneous permitting. Examples include pet food, mollusks and noxious weeds.

Soil Permits – This module provides information about the permitting policies, processes and procedures related to soil permitting including permit types, application and permit timelines.

Pest Permitting Policy, Microbial Biocontrol and Biopesticide - This module provides information about the permitting policies, processes and procedures related to the importation of microorganisms (biological control/ biopesticide organisms) used to control invertebrate plant pests and plant pathogens.

Plant Growth Enhancers and Biofertilizer - This module provides information about the permitting policies, processes and procedures related to the importation of products for use as plant growth enhancers and biofertilizers.
