Vietnamese Delegation on Animal Production Law Consults with USDA and Industry

March 26, 2018 - A Vietnamese delegation headed by Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) Vice Minister Vũ Văn Tám visited the Washington, DC area to seek comments from FAS, APHIS, FSIS, FDA, and industry on the drafting of Vietnamese animal production laws. The trip was organized by the Food and Agriculture Export Alliance (FAEA). USDA provided presentations on information requested by the delegation in advance of their visit on topics such as animal production, animal health, and food safety. The delegation also met with USDA Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs Ted McKinney. The meeting covered a range of topics from recent successes to pending issues, as well as the delegation’s general concern over the pace of Vietnamese market access requests.
