This 2-week program allows students to explore careers in plant and soil sciences, food inspection and distribution, natural resources, and wildlife biology. Every student will gain valuable hands-on experiences working with professionals on the farm, in the laboratory, and in wildlife environments.

A variety of unique learning activities will focus on agronomy, entomology, plant pathology, soil ecology, organic farming, forestry, habitat restoration, and pest management. Students will live on the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) campus in Edinburg and travel to exciting destinations throughout the Rio Grande Valley, including government and university laboratories, conventional and organic farms, agricultural inspection stations, South Padre Island National Seashore, and several National Wildlife Refuges.
