ACH/EFT Vendor Enrollment Instructions and
ACH = Automated Clearing House
EFT = Electronic Funds Transfer
Use: The ACH/EFT vendor enrollment form is a mechanism used to establish or update vendor banking information for payments by ACH.
This form may also be used to establish vendor records in the financial system for payments by check. Check payments may cause delays as they must be approved by APHIS management. Contact a FOST member for more details regarding payments by check.
Background: The Debt Collection Improvement Act (DCIA) of 1996 requires that federal payments for goods and/or services received must be made by EFT through the ACH system. Payments made via EFT are more secure and cost effective when compared to check payments.
What This Means to the Vendor: The ACH/EFT payment means that in lieu of receiving a paper check, the payment to the vendor will be sent via electronic transfer and automatically credited to the bank account designated in the form.
