BRS 2015 Stakeholder Meeting

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Biotechnology Regulatory Services (BRS) held its annual Stakeholder Meeting on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at the USDA Center at Riverside, 4700 River Road, Riverdale, MD 20737.

The annual BRS Stakeholder Meeting was open to all stakeholders and interested parties to foster engagement and transparency in BRS' regulatory activities. BRS provided updates on current program activities and initiatives, with ample opportunity for questions and discussion both in a group setting, and in one-on-one interactions with BRS staff.

Correction: At the November 18, 2015 BRS Stakeholders Meeting, BRS distributed a hand-out with a list of crops for which permits are required. The title of the list was in error.  Although permits are issued for all of the listed plants, and although permits are indeed required for many of the plants on the list, not all species on the list require a permit as opposed to a notification for outdoor plantings. We regret the error and apologize for any misunderstanding.
