Petition to Deregulate Dicamba and Glufosinate-Tolerant Corn

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) made available for public comment a petition from the Monsanto Company seeking deregulation for corn genetically engineered (GE) for resistance to the herbicides dicamba and glufosinate. The petition was available for a 60-day public review and comment period, which ended October 13, 2015.

APHIS made available a draft environmental assessment, preliminary Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI), preliminary plant pest risk assessment (PPRA), and preliminary determination in response to a petition from the Monsanto Company requesting deregulation of this Monsanto corn (MON 87419). These documents were available for a 30-day public review and comment period, which ended March 8, 2016.

On March 23, 2016, APHIS announced the deregulation of this corn line and the availability of the final documents.
