Export Certificates Must be Endorsed Prior to Shipment from the listed U.S. facility (the facility listed in Section I.11 of the certificate). The United Kingdom (UK) has reiterated that required certificates must be dated on or before shipment. VS will not pre-date export certificates. Exporters must get their certificates prior to shipment.
The United Kingdom includes not only Northern Ireland but also Great Britain (GB) [England, Wales and Scotland], the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. This page is about requirements specific to exports to Great Britain (GB) [England, Wales, and Scotland], the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. For information on exports to Northern Ireland, please go back and see the relevant information under the page for the “United Kingdom” and under the pages for the European Union (EU).
Certificates for exports to Great Britain (GB) [England, Wales, and Scotland], the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man should NOT be transferred to letterhead prior to endorsement. The certificates should instead be printed by the endorsing office duplexed onto VS Security Paper prior to endorsement.
Common Veterinary Entry Document (CVED): The CVED is not a document prepared or endorsed in the United States. The CVED is prepared by the UK importer (or in the case of shipments transiting the UK, by the individual responsible for the consignment while it is in the UK) and submitted to the UK border control post (BCP). The BCP finalizes the CVED prior to release of the shipment for movement in the UK. APHIS does not endorse CVEDs.Materials for human consumption
