Animal Products to Bulgaria
Bulgaria became a member of the European Union (EU) on January 1, 2007. The EU has harmonized import requirements for certain animal origin product. For harmonized certificates, please refer to the general information file for the European Union. Exporters must have their importers confirm with the appropriate Ministry of Animal Health that Bulgaria will accept product on the appropriate EU certificate prior to shipment.
Bulgaria will generally accept certificates that are issued in English, but the Border Inspector Post may require the importer (or the representative of the importer) to attach a translation in Bulgarian to the certificate.
