In 2015 there were 1049 total samples collected during 105 inspections at 10 sites. There were no net-pens confirmed positive for ISA this year. In fact, there have been no confirmed net-pens since February 2006. Biosecurity audits were conducted on active sites and vessels as could be scheduled during the calendar year. During the summer and fall, three sites were classified as Category 2 (suspect). These sites increased sampling frequency to biweekly. After thorough investigation, all three were reclassified as Category 1. All other sites remained Category 1 (presumed negative) throughout the year and were scheduled for monthly surveillance inspections (a few inspections were not completed due to inclement weather or other scheduling issues).
