*Argentina, a region consisting of the areas of Patagonia South and Patagonia North B only[VJ-A1]
*Brazil, State of Santa Catarina only
*Cyprus, excluding those areas of the Republic of Cyprus in which the Government of the Republic of Cyprus does not exercise effective control.
Micronesia, Federated States of
*Papua New Guinea
Saint-Pierre and Miquelon
South Africa, Republic of
Trinidad and Tobago
* APHIS has declared these regions to be free of rinderpest and foot-and-mouth disease; however the importation into the United States of meat and other animal products from these regions is subject to restrictions specified in 9 CFR 94.11 because one or more of the following conditions apply:
The region supplements its national meat supply by the importation of fresh (chilled or frozen) meat of ruminants or swine from regions from regions that APHIS considers to be affected with rinderpest or foot-and-mouth disease;
The region has a common land border with regions considered to be affected with rinderpest or foot-and-mouth disease;
The region imports ruminants or swine from regions considered to be affected with rinderpest or foot-and-mouth disease under conditions less restrictive than would be acceptable for importation into the United States.
Importation of fresh (chilled or frozen) beef and ovine meat from specified regions
APHIS has not declared the following regions to be free of rinderpest; however, the importation of certain commodities from these regions into the United States is allowed if requirements specified in 9 CFR 94.29, in addition to other applicable requirements, are met.
