Regions APHIS considers free of Newcastle disease (ND)
9 CFR 94.6 (a)(1)
** European Union Poultry Trade Region, a region of the European Union consisting of the Member States of Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and United Kingdom.
*Mexico, States of Campeche, Quintana Ro, and Yucatan only
* APHIS has declared these regions to be ND free; however, the importation of live poultry, poultry meat, and other poultry products from these regions into the United States is subject to restrictions specified in 9 CFR 94.33 because one or more of the following conditions apply:
The region supplements its meat supply by the importation of fresh (chilled or frozen) poultry meat from regions where ND is considered to exist;
The region shares a common land border with regions where ND is considered to exist;
The region imports live poultry from regions where ND is considered to exist under conditions less restrictive than would be acceptable for importation into the United States.
**The importation of poultry meat and products, and live birds and poultry, from the APHIS-defined EU Poultry Trade Region into the United States is subject to restrictions specified in 9 CFR 94.28.
***The overall disease status of Switzerland for ND is free; however, special restrictions are in effect for the region of Canton of Neuchatel.
Importation of poultry meat and other poultry products from specified regions
APHIS has not declared the following regions to be free of ND; however, the importation of poultry meat and other poultry products from these regions into the United States is allowed if requirements specified in 9 CFR 94.30, in addition to other applicable requirements, are met.
