The Fiscal Year 2021 Plant Protection Act Section 7721 Open Period is Coming Soon

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) announced today that the fiscal year (FY) 2021 open period for submitting suggestions to implement the Plant Pest and Disease Management and Disaster Prevention Program will begin in July and last seven weeks. There will be approximately $75 million available with at least $5 million going to the National Clean Plant Network (NCPN). The open period for submitting NCPN project proposals will also begin in July and last 12 weeks.

Stakeholders are strongly encouraged to review the FY 2021 Plant Protection Act (PPA) Section 7721 Implementation Plan, frequently asked questions and other guidance documents on the APHIS PPA Section 7721 web site: APHIS will offer webinars in the coming weeks to assist anyone who is planning to submit a suggestion. We will post webinar details to the PPA Section 7721 web site and send a Stakeholder Registry announcement.
