
WASHINGTON, December 26, 2023 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) reopened the comment period on a proposal published on November 14, 2023, for five additional exemptions for plants with modifications that could be achieved through conventional breeding. APHIS reopened the comment period until January 19, 2024, to allow interested persons more time to prepare and submit comments.
APHIS will also consider all comments received between December 16, 2023, and January 19, 2024.
