APHIS BRS Permit Application Updates and Training – Coming Soon!

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Biotechnology Regulatory Services (BRS) is announcing several updates to APHIS eFile that will make it easier to submit an APHIS eFile BRS permit application. The updates will be effective March 28, 2022. To assist applicants with the updates, training sessions will also be available.

What You Need to Know

  • Applicants will be able to navigate and build a BRS permit (APHIS 2000) web application more quickly.
  • Managing larger data sets will be easier. Applicants will be able to upload and delete attachments and submit larger applications for BRS review (XML uploads up to 25MB).
  • Permit applications will have a new look without changing the required information. Simply create and submit applications as you currently do.
  • Applicants can continue to access existing applications and permits as they do today.
