USDA Requests Comment on Proposal to Allow Importation of Fresh Peppers From Peru Into the Continental United States and the Territories!docketDetail;D=APHIS-2014-0028.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) proposes to amend the fruits and vegetables regulations to allow the importation of fresh peppers into the continental United States and the Territories from Peru.  As a condition of entry, the fruit would have to be produced in accordance with a systems approach.  The fruit would also be required to be imported in commercial consignments and accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate issued by Peru stating that the fruit was produced in accordance with the requirements of the systems approach.  APHIS will consider all comments that we receive on or before June 23, 2015.
