APHIS Announces Concurrence with OIE on Risk Designation for Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy in Nicaragua

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is advising the public of our concurrence with the World Organization for Animal Health's (OIE) bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) risk designation for Nicaragua. The OIE recognizes this region as being of negligible risk for BSE. APHIS reviewed the OIE's information supporting this risk designation before taking this action. Comments on this notice will be accepted until August 16, 2019. APHIS will announce a final determination for the BSE classification of Nicaragua in the Federal Register. Members of the public may review the documents and submit comments at: https://www.regulations.gov/document?D=APHIS-2018-0087-0001
