The United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) determined that Baja California, Mexico is free from fever ticks, following a thorough evaluation and public comment period. This determination also means that ruminants imported from the area pose a low risk of exposing ruminants within the United States.
