Through our representative
government, we all are responsible for the
damage done by wildlife. Several agencies work
to help solve wildlife problems. These agencies
are part of local, state and federal government.
Wildlife Services (WS), a program within the
U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and
Plant Health Inspection Service, provides
Federal leadership and expertise to resolve
these conflicts and create a balance that allows
people and wildlife to coexist peacefully. Each
state also has its own wildlife agency. Agency
personnel and private animal damage or nuisance
wildlife control operators work to solve
wildlife problems within the guidelines of state
and federal laws.
