Please check with United Arab Emirates (UAE) officials about additional testing requirements for horses. Due to a recent outbreak of strangles, in the UAE, additional testing requirements (using PCR) prior to US export may be required. Additional test results are likely to be necessary for an import permit and a statement about the date of testing, the horses tested and the negative results may be signed by an accredited veterinarian to confirm that the additional UAE requirements have been met. Such a statement does not have to be endorsed by USDA.
