Denmark - Summary of Requirements for Animals

Denmark is a Member State of the European Union. Denmark accepts English-only health certificates. For species/commodities not listed below, please refer to the European Union website.


Bovine Embryos

  • Bovine embryos: Annex II - In vivo-derived embryos (eligible for intra-Community trade). Bilingual English-Danish - August 2013 (pdf 43kb)

Bovine Semen

Equine Semen


For animals older than 16 weeks of age, 21 days must elapse from the date of the primary rabies vaccination before a pet is eligible to travel to the EU. A rabies vaccine is considered primary if either:

(1) the animal was vaccinated for the first time.
(2) the animal was vaccinated for the first time after a microchip was implanted, or
(3) vaccination was not carried out within the period of validity of a previous vaccination
