AgDiscovery Program

Welcome to AgDiscovery 2015!

Applications for the 2015 AgDiscovery Program are no longer being accepted.  Applicants selected to participate in this year’s program will be contacted by April 30, 2015. Non-selected applicants will receive a letter in the mail during the week of May 11, 2015.

We thank you for your interest in the AgDiscovery Program!

The AgDiscovery program was initiated as a APHIS Veterinary Services pilot program in 2002. Funding for AgDiscovery is facilitated through cooperative agreements with the hosting universities.

AgDiscovery is an outreach program to help students explore careers in animal science, veterinary medicine, agribusiness, plant pathology, and much more. This 2-4 week program allows participants to live on a college campus and learn about agricultural science from university professors, practicing veterinarians, industry representatives, and professionals working for the U.S. government. Students who participate in AgDiscovery will gain experience through hands-on labs, workshops, field trips, and other group and team building activities. Get a copy of the AgDiscovery application here and view the AgDiscovery Brochure to learn more.

HOW TO APPLY FOR AGDISCOVERY

Please read the instructions very carefully.  Some changes have been made for applying to the 2015 AgDiscovery program.  Note:  A current version of Adobe Pro is required when using the fillable application form.

Applicants may only apply to one AgDiscovery program each year, and are not permitted to repeat participation within the same discipline. For example, if a student participated in a program within the animal discipline in a previous year, he or she will only be eligible to participate in a program in one of the two other remaining disciplines (agribusiness or combination).   The programs are categorized in the three areas of discipline below:
