Austria - Summary of Requirements for Animals

Austria is a Member State of the European Union. Bilingual health certificates are available for some commodities/species (see below). If the bilingual certificate (English-German) for that species or commodity is not listed below, please refer to the English version on the link to the European Union. It is the responsibility of the exporter to obtain a bilingual certificate if it is not listed below.


Pets

NOTE:

For animals older than 16 weeks of age, 21 days must elapse from the date of the primary rabies vaccination before a pet is eligible to travel to the EU. A rabies vaccine is considered primary if either:

(1) the animal was vaccinated for the first time.
(2) the animal was vaccinated for the first time after a microchip was implanted, or
(3) vaccination was not carried out within the period of validity of a previous vaccination
