Livestock protection dogOne strategy used by ranchers to reduce predation on livestock is the use of livestock protection (guarding) dogs (LPD's).  Acting independently of humans, LPD’s aggressively repel predators. Genetics and proper-rearing both contribute to a successful LPD.
